Gearing up for Black Friday? If you’ve been considering an engagement ring purchase, it’s a great time to get a deal. Most online jewelers offer some sort of promotion during the Black-Friday/Cyber Monday time frame, but it is very rare to see a discount on loose diamonds themselves, or even on Build-Your-Own engagement rings.
From past experience, here are a few of the types of sales you can expect to see this time of year:
Savings on Engagement Ring Settings
James Allen is one of the few jewelers who offer a discount on some part of their “Build-Your-Own” engagement rings. Before you get too excited, let me explain. While they don’t discount the loose diamonds in their database, you can get up to a 25% discount on their ring settings, wedding bands and pre-set engagement rings. If you’re considering an ornate, or multi-stone setting, this can add up to real savings.
Black Friday Update 11/16/2017
Tonight James Allen announced 25% savings on engagement ring settings when customers purchase a CanadaMark diamond. There are many reasons to check out these ethical diamonds, this is another great one. Start shopping with this promotions now. No coupon code required. 25% discount on settings will be deducted during the checkout process.
There are a few exclusions to the discount, however. Designer settings by the like of Verragio, Jeff Cooper, Danhov, and Martin Flyer are not part of this promotion.
Savings on Pre-Set Engagement Rings, Wedding Bands and Alternative Rings
Blue Nile is a shopper’s favorite. Unfortunately, their Black Friday promotions have usually been limited to bounceback deals – when you get a discount on a future purchase after placing a full priced purchase for your engagement ring, or a discount on pre-set jewelry. Blue Nile has historically NOT provided a Black Friday discount on build-your-own engagement rings.
With savings of up to $500 in the past on the bounce back offer, this is a great way to save money if you know you’ll be returning to Blue Nile to purchase wedding bands or wedding day jewelry in the future. So don’t discount the idea completely, you can still save money this way.
Looking for an alternative engagement ring in morganite, blue topaz, sapphire or another stone? You’re very likely to find discounts on these as Black Friday deals heat up at Blue Nile. But here’s the important thing to know about Blue Nile’s sales – they usually put a discount on a collection of products and when they are gone, they’re gone. So if you have your eye on a shiny, discounted bauble from Blue Nile, don’t wait to pull the trigger. Convert early or risk missing out.
While I don’t know what the sales will be just yet, take a look at some of the past sales by top online jewelers like James Allen and Blue Nile here to get an idea of the types of promotions you may see this year:
